Ode to Doctor’s Harbour
As you walk along the shores of life
And gather up the sifting sand
And gaze out on the deep, blue sea
And thank God for his helping hand
The harbour’s very quiet now
The folks have gone to rest
They worked hard in their younger years
They did their very best
They made an honest living
From the land and from the sea
There is a place in Heaven I know
That is where they should be
T'was nice to walk that lovely cove
That nice warm sand between our toes
Laugh and sing and carry on
Just like we did when we were young
We’ve grown since then
We’ve parted ways
I knew back then you wouldn’t stay
I knew you were the travelling kind
I turned one day, and you were gone
You talked of places you might see
Far across that deep blue sea
I’ll ask the good Lord up above
If he knew what happened to our love
