Noseworthy War Poem – Unsent
My dad was sent to Hong Kong in Nov. 1941, and this is a poem he wrote on birch bark and sent to my mom. I don't know if he composed it or not.
I have only a minute
Only sixty seconds in it
Cast upon me
Didn't seek it
Didn't choose it
But it is up to me to use it
Just a tiny little minute
But eternity is in it
This envelope had a letter in it my mom wrote to my dad and we found out he was killed before she had a chance to send it.
