North and Change Islands 1949
A photo of North and Change Islands in 1949. The large house on the right belonged to my grandfather, Isaac Porter. I am standing up in the front of the punt, my older sister Louise is rowing and Susie my younger sister is in the oft. Our house is on the left with the peak roof. How things have changed since I grew up on the island! Today, there are only memories of what used to be; all the houses, stages, and flakes as well as the fish have gone - some towed away, some just decayed and fallen down.
