Newfoundland!
This is a poem written by Arianne Mercer, age 12, of Bothell, Wa., USA. She looks forward to her visits with her grandparents in Kippens, NL each year.
Newfoundland!
Arianne Mercer
Now lands the plane,
We can hardly stay sane,
For Grandmother's smile we now see!
We go in the garage,
We hear barking of dogs,
We have finally arrived, and we know it!
Next morning we wake,
We tremble and shake,
We are bubbling over with glee!
Next we go to the beach,
We are cut from all speech,
For we see so much beauty around us!
We race for a winner,
But finally it's dinner,
Now we race just to see who is faster!
We are done for the day,
"Put your tings away,"
Says our grandmother with a small smile!
