I am submitting to you a poem that I have recently written. I enjoy writing poetry very much, especially works concerning my home province of Newfoundland. My poem is simply entitled "Newfoundland," and I would be very thrilled if it was published in your magazine.

Newfoundland

Riding down da road on da bike
going to da cabin for da night
stopping at da brook for a bite,
not a trout in sight.

Going to St. John's for da day
going to the movies for a show
stopping at Ches's for a snack
heading up da shore blinded by snow.

Up in da woods checking the snares
hear a moose on da path
see a few bears on da path
no, b'y, just a goose in the air.

Gone in the boat for a week
hear there is going to be a storm
better pack my new rain coat
think I'll stay in da bed to stay warm.

Finally got back from the trip
might go to sleep for a week
got two grand that I get to keep,
gotta buy a new coat for the one I ripped.   Submitted By: NULL
