Newfoundland
"there is an island i once knew, when i was just a boy. my mother showed me its rocky cliffs and the shrouded icebergs off its coast. the coming of spring was a childhood joy. i ran about the verdant forest with my little sisters following close. i was a welcome child in the fields and on the farms. and the land was no less beautiful when it was buried under snow. i loved the people and they loved me, though it was long ago. while it's true i've traveled far and never known it as a man, i know that someday, should i choose, i could go home to newfoundland."
