Newfie fishing in Saskatchewan

Attached is a photo of a myself doing what most Newfoundlander and Labradorians love to do best. Fishing!! Very similar tecnhiques used except we use live leeches as bait as oppose to the worms you dig out of your back yard back on the rock. Since living in Regina, Saskatchewan the last three years I have been trying to get out and do some fishing. I miss the trouting in May month at Northwest Arm near Glovertown when the trout are running in the salt water. So, fishing near Regina Beach in my buddy's brand new boat, and the temperature at 27 degrees celcius, comes a close second. Funny part was, I was the first to catch a fish and it was the biggest during our excursion. As you see it is a 4-5 lb Walleye. Those of you that have never eaten a Walleye, it is actually quite tasty. Especially battered and fried in a pan with salt pork. Now mind you the salt pork was brought back with us from Newfoundland. Also note the bald head... that was because I had just had it shaved for "Cops for Cancer" fundraiser.   Submitted By: Andrew Buckle
