A picture of a Newfoundland pony taken in 1942. The pony's name was Nell and was owned by my father, William J. Lethbridge of Lethbridge, Bonavista Bay. The girl holding the pony is his daughter, Jessie Lethbridge McKay, who now resides in Santa Clara, California. Dad used the pony to make a living in those days. In the winter, Nell hauled the logs, railway ties, firewood and most of all we enjoyed the sleigh rides.
