My Small Work Related Connection to Mister Smallwood.
In the 1975 Newfoundland general election, Joey Smallwood ran for theĀ Liberal Reform Party.
I played drums with the Trepassey Band and we played for a Dance at Kenny’s Lounge in Renews.
Mr Smallwood held a Rally there that Night and paid us for Playing.
In 1991 when the Former Premier passed I was the Flight Steward that flew then Prime Minister Mulroney to St John’s for the Funeral. The Catering Company close to the Airport provided a really good homemade Vegetable Soup for our trip back to Ottawa.Mister Mulroney was very pleased with it.One last Tea from Joey before the Angels took him and a little toot of my horn while I am at.Good Cripes I am sounding like a Mainlander.Well been Retired for almost ten years. So not much recent history.Except Pork Chops and Gravy tonight.See Yas!
