My Sister Pauline and The 97 Years Young Queen.
Now my Aim of this Story is for Fun and Pass some time in Retirement.Pauline is a Year and a Day Younger than me and
we were like Twins growing up.Even loaned me some Beer money when I went to Trade School. We both Retired at age 60.As the Old folks say We got Pensioned Off.Father always stressed having a Pension.Never had one himself.Worked
in the Fishery his whole life.Pauline has been a townie since she was 19.But those Bay Woman Roots are still Strong.Anyplace with an Accordion player where she can kick up her heels or a Bingo Hall where she can Yell Bingo even
if she only have a Straight line and she is Playing Fill your Card for a Hundred Dollars. Enough about the serious stuff.
Here is a little yarn for Ye for Today.Hope ya Enjoy!
Oh Pauline was scrollin’ the Facebook one day, When she spotted a lady all grand and all grey, Ninety‑seven years young and still sharp as a tack, With a twinkle that’d shame half the youth of the pack.
So she tipped her cap with a wink and a grin, “May ya live to a hundred, and then start again. For you’re spry as a filly and twice as much fun— Sure the craic only starts when you’re ninety‑and‑one!”
Now Pauline herself loves a laugh and a spree, And she follows this lady like royalty. “God bless ya,” she typed, “you’re a marvel to see— And you’re older than Britain’s own cup o’ tea!”
If Pauline could visit, she’d bring her a cake, With candles enough to set off an earthquake. But the old girl would laugh, “Ah don’t fuss over me— I’ll be dancin’ at hundred, just wait and you’ll see!”
So here’s to the lady, still lively and keen, And here’s to our Pauline, the craic‑lovin’ queen. May the pair of them sparkle wherever they roam— For the Irish at heart are forever at home.
