Newfoundland is not only a place it is my home
I am not afraid to stay there, I could write that in stone
The sandy beaches and the crashing waves
I could go there for years, months, days

I wish I could live there most of the time
Sit there on the rocks or climb
My family is there and that's where they will stay
And I would go fishing in the morning right off the bay

Whatever you think or say bad of the Rock
Will not hurt us, we are strong like the accent we talk
The sayings we have you might not understand
Like 'how's she gettin' on?' or 'You're lookin' some good ol' man.'
Newfoundland is my home I could say that forever
We have no nice weather but the people are quite clever
Newfoundland is not only a place, it is my home
I am not afraid to stay there, I could write that in stone.
