My wife and I are from NL originally, she is from Little Catalina and myself from Norris Arm South, NL. We have both lived in various places in the US for 15 years now and now reside in Dallas, Texas. Our two boys, 6 and 8, had their first cod jigging experience this past summer with my buddy from Bonavista, Captain Darrin Cooper, a fine Newfoundlander and a dear friend. What an experience it was, especially when my youngest boy says "Dad, them codfish are not very smart to just jump on the hook like that." Needless to say, I laughed out loud and agreed with them both. What a day of jigging and whale watching and cave exploits we had in the beautiful town of Bonavista - a beautiful, tranquil place to visit for sure. It's a yearly ritual for my boys, they are my Newfie American boys with lots of character as is very common with most Newfoundlanders.   Submitted By: Rodney Walsh
