Was and still is the absolute best

My brothers and sister and I were truly blessed

Mom would put on her bandana and get everything set

It was a big long process that I haven’t done myself yet

Mom would do other things around the house waiting for the dough to rise

She never stopped a minute to no surprise

Mom would save the butter wrappers to rub over the golden crusted bread

Or just brush some from the butter tray instead

Mom’s bread would be perfectly cooked and never be burnt

I wish I could have paid closer attention and ‘learnt’

We'd always look forward to Mom making homemade bread once a week

Because it would be Posies for supper that night and oh what a treat

Mom makes almost everything the best for sure
