Memories Of Cape St. Mary’s
And I wandered along an infinite plateau,
Where the brisk wind off the sea
Whispered a hearty welcome in my ear.
Majestic scenery sprawled before me,
Mosses, lichens, granite as old as time,
And I was awestruck such a place existed!
Wisps of white,
Feathers scattered upon majestic cliffs
Where only time has left its footprint!
Sky so blue,
Surely the threshold of heaven is within reach
Upon the summit of the wondrous precipice!
Sun-tipped waves,
Dapple a brilliant sapphire ocean
That ravages a primordial shoreline!
Ultimate sanctuary,
Symbol of nature’s supreme essence
Enticing as it is unapproachable!
Cape St. Mary’s
Where the birds understand
They have discovered heaven on earth!
