Memories In Dust and Mildew
All too often a true love is put aside only to be renewed years down the road when it's realized that it was meant to be. It is never too late to pick up what once was.
A gentle smile so sincere,
across the room with meeting eyes,
Melting moments, shedding tears,
Shared with a love that once cared.
Tucked away within a trunk,
Gathered notes with dust and mildew,
A thought, a tear renewed,
A love long reaching out now overdo.
A breath taken deep within,
A heart overwelmed with a sigh.
The thought, of the love renewed,
Of a mistake they once let slip by.
Holding hands, a gentle smile,
The innocence of a little child,
Fond memories in dust and mildew,
A love to release now long overdo.
Eyes meeting eyes, hands touching hands,
Sweet gentle whispers, I’ve missed you in time.
Teardrops flowing, hearts beating fast,
Please be mine with a love that will last.
Dust off those memories, wipe the mildew away,
Come to me darling, be mine today,
Let’s not let the love that’s long overdo,
Rot within this trunk with dust and mildew.
