Memories
"As I sit here on the front porch, thinking back on yesterday. Remembering the ones I've known, those lost along the way. My memory it takes me back, to a time so long ago. To places that I've kept inside, when the nights are long and cold. There was Mudo in the kitchen, cooking dinner on the stove. Pop's out in the woodhouse, stacking up the splits he clove. The seagulls fly above us, little birds sing in the trees. This is just one of my, many childhood memories. Memories they keep me goin, when everything seems wrong. They always take me back in time, to a place that I belong. I wish that I could turn back time, see them again once more. Hear the laughter, see the smiles that I always adored. I can still see all my old friends, playing ball up on the land. Or on a summer afternoon, just lying on the sand. We would talk about the future, the things we'd plan to do. Sometimes I wonder why things change, why can't dreams come true? Now the years have passed so quickly, got two children of my own. How I wish my folks were here, to see how much they've grown. Years from now they'll both look back, and fondly think of me. Then I'll be a part of, their childhood memories. " Submitted By: NULL
