March Came
March Came
March month came in and though we knew
That winter had not disappeared
It seemed that spring was on the way
And would break early in this year
But there is an old saying that
In like a lamb; out like a lion
And come St. Paddy's Day we will
Likely see the snowflakes flying
For winter seems like a long time
From dark November's dreary days
So by the time March comes around
We long for spring; can't wait for May
Then comes along one sunny day
And we in longing see the spring
Though it may be two months or more
Before it actually does begin
Where there is hope; then there is life
And so we cling to the belief
That when comes March the twenty-first
From winter we will have relief
Although we know reality
Will likely not be quite this way
Though equinox may be on time
Spring may not start then in the bay
