Making Nets
My name is Ivy Edgecombe nee Roberts. I am 96 years old and was born in Cards Harbour, but moved to Canada in 1949. These pictures are of my grandfather's and my dad's fishing nets. This is what I remember when I was very young. They would knit the nets in their store in winter. They would pick buds from spruce trees, boil them in a large pot and then hang them to dry. My grandfather was George Roberts. My father, Fred Roberts. Submitted By: NULL
