Growing up around the "Bay," it wasn't odd to walk into your neighbour's house and find the Mom or even the daughter, as shown in this photo, wearing a bandana or even a pair of bloomers on their head while baking. One of the lessons my Mom gave my daughter about baking is to ensure your head was covered. (This photo was taken at Marysvale, Conception Bay in 1993. Sarah, my daughter, is in the photo and my mom has since passed away.
