Funchal is the capiatal of Madeira, a Portuguese archipelago situated north of the Canary Islands and west of Morocco, North Africa. It is a popular year round resort being visited every year by about a million tourists. It is noted for its Madeira wine, flowers, landscapes and embroidery artisans.
