Lunn Unbroken
Dear Downhome, First I must say when I read your magazine, it lights up my day, because what I had gone through at Slave Lake, Alberta on May 15, when three horrible fires destroyed so many homes, and mine was one of them. I lost everything, including the tapes and CDs of Buddy Wasisname, also the story of Samantha Walsh and the story of Gander when the disaster struck USA. The puzzles and the stories kept me from losing my mind at times. Some stories I can relate to, like picking berries, the good old school days and the Christmastimes. I can still almost taste my mother's fruitcake. God bless her soul. The mummering I won't forget. I can still savour the Purity syrup. Anyway, keep up the good work, as it keeps us Newfies who left home in good health. Ah yes, the fire destroyed my Newfoundland flag. Also, I found Corky with my son Donny's help, on page 54 on the hoary bat. What a sneaky place, and so close to Halloween. Submitted By: NULL
