Looking for a Date or a Job Editing?
A few years ago, a 50 plus friend of mine from St. John’s was convinced by his buddies to try out
the dating site Plenty of Fish, or Plenty of Freaks, as some called it.
Like myself he could come up with a story, but he was a bit short on correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Anyhow, he was offered help with typing up his profile bio, but us old fellas are too contrary for that nonsense. Who needs the aggravation of writing something someone can read?
Anyways.
So off he goes with his one-finger type job. Mistakes Galore. Did not take long before he heard back from a woman who was a retired English teacher who decided he needed help with his writing skills with a corrected version of his bio. She thought she was being helpful, but she was not what he was looking for at the time. It probably would have worked out fine.
My friend sent her a quick response. It went something like this. “We are not a Match. While I value your help on correcting my bio, I think you are not looking for a date, but a job as an Editor. You might want to look on Jobs Indeed for that one.”
God Bless!
