Life
I've been getting your Downhome subscription for many years now. I enjoy and look forward to every month's stories, puzzles and outstanding pictures - plus much, much more. I see you publish poems. I wrote a couple, wondering if you would consider mine.
I was born in Codroy, Newfoundland in 1953. I've been living in Enfield, Nova Scotia for almost 40 years. I started writing poetry mostly after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1998.
Life
Each day of our lives we thank God for.
Be thankful that you can put your feet on the floor.
Our days may not be filled with roses and wine.
Just take life one day at a time.
Don't dwell on the past, it only causes pain.
Hold on to good memories the bad makes strain.
Some people have it better than the rest.
Don't let it get to you, for God's putting you through the test.
Hold your head up high, walk tall with a smile.
For each of us is God's child.
We live for our families, we work for a living.
We pray for our sins, God He's forgiven.
Life is what we make it, so it's all up to you.
Take each day as it comes, have fun or be blue.
Some days you'll be up, some days you'll be down.
Don't fret, call a friend and go out on the town.
Life is much like the weather you know.
Unpredictable and you never know which way it'll go.
Life is such a beautiful thing.
Live for today you don't know what tomorrow might bring.
