Labrador Iceberg

In November 2006, my husband and I relocated to Bishop's Falls from Labrador City. I really miss taking Labrador scenery photos from the hills and mountains adjacent to the Adam Nichols Highway during our walks, cross-country skiing and skidooing. Although I miss the Labrador scenery, my interest in picture-taking began again this spring 2007 with many trips to Leading Tickles, Notre Dame Bay to see the icebergs. For the first time this spring I saw the pans of ice from Labrador, and with the Labrador connection I took out my camera and have taken numerous photos of the Labrador ice and icebergs. Each month we purchase your Downhome magazine and are enjoying reading your articles. Since moving here we have travelled many parts of the Island. Also, during the years that we did vacation on the island portion of our province, we would take at least one section of the Island and spend time in that area. When I first get your magazine, I always go to the Downhome Traveller section to see what area of NL is being featured. It is always great to see familiar communities, and to learn of new areas of the province, and for sure one day we will also get an opportunity to visit those communities. It is always very informative to know the heritage of the communities, and to be able to view first-hand their heritage displays, view their scenery and attend their events, etc. Also, should we stop for any length of time, for sure we would have an opportunity to meet a local resident and learn more of their community and surrounding communities.   Submitted By: NULL
