Volunteer Point is a headland on the east coast of East Falkland, in the Falkland Islands, north-northeast of Stanley. It lies at the end of a narrow peninsula, which protects Volunteer Lagoon, and hosts the islands’ largest king penguin colony. It was amazing to visit this remote region and experience truly close encounters with these incredibly cute and curious animals.

Ella (Crowley) is originally from Holyrood, Newfoundland. She travelled to Alaska in 1995 as a travel nurse where she met her husband, Brook, a paramedic/firefighter, now retired. They enjoy traveling, especially back home to Newfoundland. Their next trip home will be Brook’s 40th!
