Just as Well I Didn’t Say ‘Two Shakes of a Lamb’s Tail’
I have a little story about one of my grandchildren, Emily FitzPatrick, Lamaline, who just turned four. I was babysitting this past weekend, or, as Emily says, we were doing a "girlie thing."
Emily decided to get up at 5:30 on Sunday morning – not good - we went to church, had lunch at her Uncle Rick's and Aunt Donna's. By this time, she was starting to get tired and a little contrary; we came home and I said to her, "Now, Emily, you have 40 winks and then we'll go outside and play." She lay down for all of 10 seconds, and then sat up and started winking at me: one wink, two winks, three winks. I thought it was the funniest thing I ever saw. She looked so cute with the little face all screwed up, winking away. She couldn't figure out why I was laughing; she was actually doing as she was told! I enjoy your magazine tremendously and eagerly await the mail each month. I received a year's subscription for Christmas from my grandchildren, Jonah & Olivia Strang, Lawn, and I'm pretty confident that Santa will bring me another this year.
