Joe Batt’s Arm
Joe Batt's Arm I have fallen under your spell
And when you speak what interesting stories you tell
Of an age the world has hopelessly forgotten
Of an age that perpetuates long-lost magic in you
The dawn in the sky graces the times with a sigh
For Joe Batt's Arm.
For she can remember the hard times that were here
As I wander along mystically charmed by the beauty before me
Fascinated by the land saturated with sunshine, flower and song
At days end when the sun rests on the treeless
Hill-strewn horizon
I envy the soul-captivating beauty of the snow-clad vistas
For soon it will meekly embrace the stars
While fiddles, accordions, and guitars play the music
Of her heart in a Christmas concert.
Then moonlit she will live again the glory of her yesteryear
Mystic, romantic and without fear.
