I am an original Newfoundlander, from Bell Island; my husband Walter and I have enjoyed the Downhome for years. Our daughter gives it to her dad every November for his birthday. My husband is not a Newfoundlander. I took him on vacation to Newfoundland in 1993, and he loves everything to do with Newfoundland. We shared Downhome with neighbours and two of them are now subscribers. The photo is of our dog. His name is Jasper. He is five years old. I know that because my husband leaves his dog tags on his collar so he won't forget how old he is! He has five dog tags. He is a white or (albino) boxer - different and rare. He has a face that only a mother can love, and a personality to match. If you use his photo in Downhome, that would be "fun;" if not, that's fine too. Hopefully he did provide you with a laugh for the day.
