Isaac’s Cove
The place where I want my ashes scattered in the far distant future
Imagining this place leaves me in a state of rapture
In my mind’s eye I still see the timber planks of a great wharf that is no longer there
And the rusted boat winch that got lost in thin air
The sound of the rounded beach rocks as I walk across it's floor
And of the cold Atlantic waves lapping gently on the shore
I walk through the mousehole on to another soft sanded little beach
And rest my back on the smooth angled cliff that to climb is out of reach
I raise my closed eyes and face for the sun to warm
In a frame of mind where no one or nothing can do me no harm
THIS is my favourite place on earth I have to say
And this is why I want my ashes scattered there one day
