Why mow them down with all the grass,
When they were really meant to last;
Just let them raise their pretty heads,
These yellow-bellied piss-a-beds!

Their greens are great to garnish meals,
Thus, this poetic piece, appeals,
To all who brand this flower a weed,
When hungry mouths are there to feed.

So, leave the wildflowers there awhile,
Until they really cramp your style,
And realize how much they bring,
When they appear here every spring.
