Holyrood pre 1966

My Nana, Frances (Wall) Squires, grew up in Holyrood. Her father is John Wall and her mother Mary (Joy) Wall. Her brother is Walter Wall, and he lived with his wife in Corner Brook before he passed away.
I was told that my Nana helped her mother at the telegraph station in Holyrood. I think that my Great grandfather did a lot of different kinds of work through the years from running a shop, to fishing, to going to the States for work.
My Nana received a nursing degree in St. Johns and moved to Boston. She met my grandfather there after WW2 and they married. My grandfather's mother was from Quidi Vidi, but he died when I was young and I never got to hear about his side of the family. My Nana passed away a few years ago. She was a lovely woman, and I am lucky to have been able to spend time with her.
I have a deep fondness for Newfoundland and the history of my family there. My Nana used to give me her old Downhome magazines, and that got me hooked.
Please feel free to share this picture of Holyrood. I'm not sure when it was taken, but I would guess well before 1966 since there is no cross on the mountain. The last time I visited Holyrood, the house my Nana grew up in was a fish and chips shop next to a pond close to the middle of the harbor with the mountain to its back, but that was 10 years ago.
