Hogweed Plant
Picture of the hogweed plant I took up in Gros Morne a couple summers ago. This week in our local paper we had a write-up on how toxic this plant is. There is a clear sap from this plant that will cause skin to be photosensitive. The sap causes severe blistering and bad burns if it comes into direct contact with human skin. The rash appeares worse when exposed to the sun's UV rays. Depending on the individual the effects can last months. Submitted By: Madeline Healey
