Harbour Joys
Dear Downhome,
My name is Brandon and I am 12 years old. I am in Grade six and soon going to Grade seven. I fell in love with Newfoundland when I moved here several years ago, especially Twillingate. I would like to someday move there and fulfil my future with fishing on the long liners. I am writing this letter because I wrote a poem and would be very happy if you could publish it in a future issue of Downhome. I have a yearly subscription and would be so excited to see my poem in a future issue. Please consider putting my poem in the Downhome magazine. This would be so nice to see my poem when I look through the Downhome and read it. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read my letter and poem. I love Downhome magazine. Keep up the good work.
Harbour Joys
By Brandon P.
Gander, NL
This is where the seagulls wail, the boats sail
The fishers fish, we salt our fish
The water roars on rugged shores
That we adore
The ocean smells always dwells
Down in Twillingate Harbour
For this we recall, may show to us all
For these are harbour joys.
