During a trip back home to Gambo, NF in July 2006 I witnessed a thunder and lightening storm which brought intense rain and hail. Streets flooded over, paint chipped off fences and patios and leaves plastered themselves to the houses. The lawn was covered in icy pebbles where they stayed for several hours; some even remained until the next morning! The rhubarb leaves were covered with holes and the stalks literally looked as if someone had chewed on them. Vegetable stalks were flattened and the heads had popped off of our neighbours' marigold flowers. Who said small towns aren't exciting?!
