My mother, Sophie Corcoran of St. John's, NL, wrote a funny poem about H1N1.

People lined up by the dozens today
For their needle to keep H1N1 away.
Some others were too late and
Missed the boat.
They got a fever and sore throat.
Aches and pains everywhere
You can't escape
It's in the air.
Don't shake hands, just say hello
Wave goodbye as you go.
Wash your hands and sanitize
Wear a mask, go in disguise.
Jerome says more vaccine is on the way
Faith says the flu is here to stay.
Another wave coming
What will we do?
If you're over 56 you probably
Won't catch the flu.
