Growing Up In Newfoundland
Life was good when I was a kid<br /> Growing up in Newfoundland<br /> There was lots of fish and moose to eat<br /> And we lived off father's land. <br /> <br /> Dad grew turnips and carrots and spuds<br /> Cabbage and onions and beets<br /> And we planted seeds right by his side<br /> Just before summer's heat. <br /> <br /> Dad took us berry-picking too<br /> And he knew where to find the best spots<br /> We'd follow him through the brambles and brush<br /> Complaining cause we were too hot<br /> <br /> He loved to fish the salmon pools<br /> Go trouting along the brooks<br /> And he took us along and showed us how<br /> To handle our bait and hooks<br /> <br /> Those days are only memories now<br /> They're all I have left of Dad<br /> And growing up in Newfoundland<br /> Is the very best memory I have<br /> Submitted By: Nancy Crossman
