My son, Joey Sparrow, carried my Downhome magazine all the way to Greece. He began working at the age of 15 and saved enough money to travel to Greece & Turkey with Education First Tours for Springbreak. Since I was not able to travel with him, my Downhome copy went along in my stead safely in his backpack. The first wave of refugees were arriving on the shores of Greek Islands at the time Joey visited. What could he do but give some of his savings to a person in need? The Downhome Magazine was a handy reminder of just how fortunate we are. Joey is saving for another trip, to Rome this time, and my Downhome Magazine once again will be safely tucked in his bacpack.
