I would appreciate it if you could publish this picture in an issue of the Downhome. I had one published three years ago of our trip to Ireland and I was so excited about it. I love your book and I read it over and over. Thank you again for all your hard work and the joy you bring to so many at home and away. Bridget is our only girl and she was very excited about planning her wedding with her husband, and of course I suggested that she get a picture taken with the Downhome. It was such fun.

This beautiful newlywed couple proudly pose with the Downhome (with encouragement from Bridget’s mom, Madonna Wilkinson, avid reader of the Downhome) following their beautiful marriage ceremony at St. Michael’s Church, Flatrock on Aug. 9. Bridget and Richard Hickey are standing on what’s traditionally called Martin Point, Flatrock (historically the place where the boats landed their fish). In the background is visible another scenic and tourist attraction, known as The Beamer. This huge area of rock begins at the breakwater and continues to jut out into the sea. This area has a lot of history attached and is now one of the paths of the East Coast Trail. Note the deep marine blue and calmness of the sea. We were excited to include all this as a part of a wedding day! It was a beautiful hot day and “a great day for a wedding!”   Submitted By: NULL
