"After living in Sudbury for a little over 2 years. My parents Guy and Peggy Morey moved to Timmins, Ontario.(ONLY 3hrs away). Well dad was on his 4 days off and decided to come and spend it with me. On the way down from Timmins dad passed a sign that read ""ugly sticks now in stock"" He looked and mom and said you know we should go back and pick one up for Ann for her lawn, I bet she would be the only one in Sudbury with one. So they turned around and went back to the store. When they got inside they looked all around but couldn't spot any ugly sticks. The lady working at the time approached them and said ""can I help you find something?"" Yes dad said the sign said you have ugly sticks but I can't seem to find them. The lady looked at him with a surprised look on her face and said turn around sir there are lots behind you in all sizes. Well, when mom and dad turned around, they saw ugly sticks alright. It was fishing rods!! They had a good laugh, and so did the clerk when he told her what Newfounlanders version of a ulgy stick is. Thanks mom and dad, it was the thought that counted.
