Good catch
This picture is of my late father Lewis Troake who along with myself had a great catch of cod in Twillingate one day, nearly fifty years ago. Although he worked at Ashbournes as a night watchman, he still went fishing before he slept. We were at one of his favourite fishing grounds, and had rowed there in his small punt. I used to sail it sometimes too, but unfortunately, that day the wind was as in a Newfoundland colloquial expression, “flat cam.” It was early in the morning and very peaceful with the sound of the paddles hitting the water - so great a memory!
I spent many years in California and now having moved back to NL, you can appreciate I have already experienced a much different winter climate. It’s home though, and I will adjust to all the changes including the weather.
