A poem from my book entitled Slices of Life. I had this booklet published and copyrighted in 1997, while residing at Elliot Lake, Ontario.

I would like to share this poem with your reading subscribers. I've recently written about 15 more, and plan to have all poems (approximately 61) republished if I can find a publisher willing to do them. They deal with all aspects of life (birthdays, anniversaries, war, death, loneliness, seasons, etc.).

God's Wonders

God has given us many wonders
To share throughout this earth
But the simple joys of nature
Are by far of greatest worth.

What is whiter than the driven snow
Found high on mountain tops?
Or warmer than the soothing heat
From all earth's sunny spots?

Is there anything that's cooler
Than sparkling waters from a spring?
Or more pleasing to your hearing
Than songbirds as they sing?

Can the colours of a rainbow
Be excelled in modern art?
Won't the deep blues of the ocean
Always fire up one's heart?

Could your ears behold more pleasure
Than a loon's shrill plaintiff call?
And what can move your spirit more
Than honking geese in fall?

Is there anything more massive
As giant icebergs floating south?
Or more wondrous to the eyesight
Than a whale which you see spout?

Can your nostrils reap more pleasure
From those perfumes in a mall?
Than from fragrant smells of lilacs
Or a rosebush in the fall?

Yes, God has shared these wonders
With all people on His earth
So let us thank Him for His kindness
