God Help Me
Dedicated to my mom who passed away from Alzheimer's Sept. 23, 2002.
I must be crazy or insane
Soon I won't even know my name.
The people I thought were my friends
Now they are saying contradicting things.
Is there something you're not telling me?
Don't be afraid, 'cause I won't be.
Down at the banks, and in the shopping malls
So many faceless people in the halls.
Two houses now, I have to roam
Everything the same, but which is home?
This man I knew, I think called Ray
Did he die, or just go away?
Those children around me, you say are mine
I don't even know them, but they're so kind.
Long ago memories, I now recall
Like photos of my father, hanging on the wall.
God help me, come sit with me
'Cause I don't known what's yet to be.
