"While living in Nova Scotia I had an opportunity one year to attend an Operating Room Nurses Convention in St.John’s, NL. Myself and a senior nurse were elected to go. The other nurse had never been to Newfoundland and was really excited. She asked me everything about Newfoundland and I tried to explain everything to her. Her idea of Newfoundland was about as bizarre as one could ever imagine. And of course I had told her some really stupid things as well because she was such a good target for teasing. Finally it came time to fly to St. John’s and on our approach to the airport my coworker turned to me and sincerely asked “Do we have to get into a boat to get to the hotel?” And that is true!!
