From the Eyes Of a Four-Year-Old
On a recent trip to St. John's, my family and I were driving along the Veteran's Memorial Highway near Hodgewater line when two moose crossed the road in front of the van. Wanting to make sure our two daughters (Abigail, 4, and Kaitlyn, 2) saw the moose, my husband pulled over to the side of the road. I looked back at the two girls and told them to look at the moose. With that my four-year-old started to look around. Then she looked at us and said, "That's not moose Mom, that's camels. I can see their humps on their backs." Trying not to laugh I asked her where she thought the "camels" were going. She stopped for a minute and when they were out of sight and we were headed back on the road, she said, "The camels live in the desert, but I think they have a long way to go." So just a word of advice to anyone travelling along that road: Watch out for moose and two lonely Hodgewater camels. Submitted By: Melissa Morgan
