Causeway of Causeway oh where have you gone<br /> You have shrunk from the midst of Fogo Island&acirc;€™s song<br /> We&acirc;€™ve had several ferries and they come and go<br /> But the recent breakdowns give us a hard blow<br /> <br /> The winter conditions cause quite a concern<br /> as ice and frost cause our faces to burn<br /> Long ferry line-ups and changeable weather<br /> of how a causeway could be much better<br /> <br /> Missed appointments and discontent<br /> We wonder where the extra money went<br /> Which we spent on extra food and gas<br /> and hotel rooms before we get there at last<br /> <br /> Leaving early to catch the next boat<br /> not even knowing if she&acirc;€™s still afloat<br /> and moving through the snow and ice<br /> Putting up with it all is quite a price<br /> <br /> With a ferry terminal that&acirc;€™s out of whack<br /> We wonder if we should ever come back<br /> at ten below zero and the toilet doesn&acirc;€™t work<br /> the thought of the woods would make us shirk<br /> <br /> A causeway would eliminate so much<br /> with great efficient for travel and such<br /> the possibility of working away<br /> and being back home at the end of each day<br /> <br /> May the fixed link be the next step<br /> to correct all that is so inept<br /> So that life can be as we all need<br /> and may the powers that be pay full heed<br />   Submitted By: NULL
