Fish ‘n’ Brewis
Oh I haven’t had it in such a long time
I’m longing for it now as I write this poem
With the ‘scrunchions’ and ‘drawn butter’ all mixed in
It’s a shame I can’t have it more often, ‘what a sin’
The brewis just melts in your mouth while the fish is ‘some good’
Havin’ it with a cup of tea and bread rolls ‘like you would’
I remember me mudder having a big pot of it on the stove
There was enough for seconds and thirds for everyone
It’s a Newfoundland delicacy that’s for sure
It’s a supper you can have more and more and more~
