Father Troy&acirc;��s Path <br /> <br /> As a boy I walked its route<br /> The rocky East Coast Trail <br /> Those wild and venturesome winding paths<br /> Put me in shape and cured what ailed <br /> <br /> The walk in memory now takes me back<br /> To childhood rambles I used to know<br /> And tweaks my sentimental strings<br /> For places I dearly loved to go <br /> <br /> Now that I'm getting on in age<br /> I wonder if I'm up to the task<br /> Of climbing over those rocky crags<br /> I wish I could is all I ask<br /> <br /> From Cappahayden to Cape St. Francis<br /> Along that coastal venue fine<br /> Some twenty paths to peak ones interest<br /> There I longed to spend my time<br /> <br /> And Father Troy's Path was a favourite of mine<br /> A very historic walk for sure<br /> Some eight kilometres from Flat Rock to Torbay<br /> Along a rocky headland shore<br /> <br /> And two special features of that walk<br /> Stood out for me where we would strut<br /> One the Stony Beach at Torbay <br /> And the other Beamer's Rocky Jut<br /> <br /> There's many more paths along that trail<br /> To peak ones interest over the long haul<br /> But that one stands out for me for sure<br /> And I loved to walk it especially in Fall<br /> <br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia<br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
