Fanny's Kitchen Cabinet<br /> <br /> When I visited Chafe's Landing Restaurant in Petty Harbour in Sep 2010, I noticed an old kitchen cabinet in one corner of the reception area (photo). There was something familiar about that cabinet, and I soon realized I had seen it before back in the mid-1940s when I visited that property when it belonged to my Uncle Edgar and Aunt Fanny Chafe. My sister and I would spend several delightful weeks there in the summer, and that cabinet was proudly displayed in that same corner of Fanny's kitchen. Now some 70 years later it was still there, long after two generations had passed.
