Ever Newf
The English preached pomposity,
The Scots poured us some paucity;
The Irish roared up raucously,
And the French in us, went cautiously.
We’re the products of our progenitors,
Tempered equally by tormentors,
What you see is what we be,
Rather different, culturally!
Oft galoots, in better bearing,
You might note us, in your hearing;
Though no two of us, alike,
As a gang, we’re true to type!
Friendly, to a fault, we’re famous,
Some have said their share, to shame us;
But the bottom line is simple,
There’s a smile in every dimple!
