Harold Downton born 1912 and his sister Janet Downton born 1910 in Lewisporte moved to Grand Falls when they were 9 and 11 years old. Janet married Ches Luscombe and in 1949 they moved to Ontario. This picture was passed to me by my father, Reginald Downton, who is Harold's son and Janet's nephew. The picture was taken on the old Botwood Road, now Lincoln Road in Grand Falls. Dad said they would be in their late teens or early twenties. The year would be around 1930-1932. Harold passed away in 1992 at the age of 80 and Janet celebrated her 110th birthday last August in Riverwood Seniors Living in Alliston, Ontario where she still resides today.
